There have certainly been a fair share of bizarre rumours and headlines by the press over the years and Monday morning’s football headlines suggest a hint of international weekend boredom.
The Star has on Monday suggested that Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi is now open to a move to the Premier League after falling foul of the tax authorities in Spain.
The Star go on to claim that Messi’s “preferred option” is to move to Arsenal, however more important than the club is the player’s wage demands of a staggering £600,000 a week.
When thinking about this story with any sense of realism it is hard to conceivably believe that any part of this story is accurate.
After this report broke, Arsenal fans took to social media to express their views on the rumour, some with the belief that the transfer could actually happen, but most fans addressed the ridiculousness of such a report.
